Can you please send to the list the gvSIG.log file in order to see with
detail what's happening?

Depending on your operating system it could be at:

Windows: C\:Documents and Settings\[user_name]\gvSIG
Linux:	 /home/[user_name]/gvSIG
Mac:	 Users/[user_name]/gvSIG
