Hi Giuliano,

I am trying to join the tables as directed in the exercise, however there are features in the pictures that are not listed in my gvSIG desktop. In the "Apply a transformation" window, under "Select the join field in the first table," it does not allow for me to select "ID_1" as shown in the exercise. I am attempting to create the join in the proper order (regions and then regions_info) but I need to know what to substitute for the "ID_1" that I do not have.

Please help.

Best regards,

Floyd

This is the standard procedure
1 - load the ETHIOPIA_REGIONS_4326 shapefile in the View and open its table of attributes
2 - load the table ETHIOPIA_REGIONS_INFO.DBF and open
3 - table / create join
4 - first select the attribute table of the layer file
5 - then select the dbf table
6 -[http://moodle.gvsig-training.com/pluginfile.php/9274/mod_forum/post/12537/join.jpg]
7- Next
8- Load in your View (a dropdown list with the available view is available)
9-Export the Join layer as a new shapefile (Layer/Export to)

I have recorded a short video to show how to join table
You can download the video from this link

Hope it helps

Giuliano
