IMHO this is going too far as I am not sure if  a representative analysis of
user behaviour (like a Usability test)  is likely to be done by the
community or will yield meaningful results at all. Besides the interesting
discussion about what "copy" means in different contexts in the end Klaus'
loss of data was caused by himself deleting the attribute data of his
shapefile (as I said sh++ happens and I feel sorry  for him). There a dialog
appears already asking if data should be saved or not.
Maybe it is sufficient to elaborate this dialog a little by adding some kind
of advice on what's going to be deleted.
For example something like " If you are working on a copy of  your source
file remember that changes will affect it as well". Maybe a reference to the
manual could be included too (see p. xx).
So, in general, we could try to work on improving existing features of gvSIG
instead of creating new ones.
